Tutorial:

Begin with your typical foundation rutine. Then follow by applying a primer to your lid. Apply Pomegranate Punk to the lid and lower lash line. Then apply Cranberry over top for an extra pop of colour and to set. Blend the golden brown shade from the Hazel palette into your crease. After this use Zero from the Shadow box to line the upper lash line with a slight flick. follow with Zero on the bottom lash line as well(Make sure when your lining your eye with this, to keep it close to the lash line so the burgundy colour can still show through underneath)Tight line the eye with Smolder. and then apply Graffiti from the shadow box to the inner lower corner of the eye. Finnish of by curling your lashes and 3-4 coats of mascara. For some extra drama add false lashes (I would suggest picking a pair that are not to full or you wont see the colour on your lid)Follow with a Orgasm blush. Highlight and contour with Bronze Lights and Pearl for a nice glow. I then used Soft Nude on the lips to keep the focus on the eyes.

First Post!

Hello World!

My Name is Cat! I am a 24 year old student from Alberta, Canada. And I am currently completing my BFA in Visual Studies. I am an artist, and I believe that makeup, hair and fashion are all art forms of there own.
So Smitten Kitten is a Blog that will focus on tutorials and reviews of hair and beauty. I will also be incorporating a bit of fashion, but I wouldn't say I have a big enough closet to consider myself a true fashion blogger ;)
So for my first post I decided to show you guys my go-to hair and makeup look. As well as a typical outfit for me:

My Everyday Hair

Products:

Moroccan oil
Tony & Guy  1 1/4 inch Sleek Light Styling Iron
Goody Boar Blend large round brush
Vidal Sassoon Ionized Hair dryer

Tutorial:

This look is pretty simple. After washing my hair, I always start with a drop of Moroccan Oil (I don't like to use a lot of products in my hair and I find that Moroccan Oil is a great multi-tasker: it conditions the hair, protects against heat damage and smoothes down flyways) from mid-length to ends. After this I will blow dry my bangs with a round brush, and ether let the rest of my hair air dry, or blow dry it for added volume. I will then clip back the hair just above the ear and at the crown. Starting with the bottom 3rd section that has not been clipped: wrap 2 inch pieces around the curling iron (I don't use the clamp because I find My hair kinks to much, and it prevents the ends from frying) Remember to Keep the hair at a 45 degree angle, and twirl the hair away from the face. Then hold for 8 seconds. Once I have worked through all three sections, and the hair is curled and cooled, I will then lightly run my fingers through it to loosen up the curls. I don't use hairspray with this look because I simply don't need too. The Tony & Guy curling iron that I use holds
curls really well on its own.

My Everyday Makeup

Face:

Smashbox Illuminating Serum
Laura Mercier oil-free foundation primer
Estee Lauder Double Wear Light foundation - 02
NARS powder Blush - Orgasm
Smashbox Bronze Lights Duo - Fair/Light
Mac Cream Colour Base - Pearl
Smashbox High Definition Concealer - Fair/Light
Smashbox Photo Set Finishing Powder SPF 15
Anastasia Brow Wiz - Medium Ash

Eyes:

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer
Smashbox Ultimate Eyes Eyeshadow Quad - Hazel
Mac Eye Kohl - Smolder
Clinique Brush-On Cream liner - True Black
Tweezerman Eyelash curler
Estee lauder Sumptuous Bold Volume Lifting mascara - Black

Lips:

Estee lauder Pure Colour lipstick - Candy

Brushes:

Sigma Flat Kabuki - F80
Sigma Medium Angled Shading - E70
Sigma Eye Shading - E55
Sigma Small Angle - E65
Sigma Tapered Blending - E40
Sigma Large Angled Contour - F40
Sigma Large Powder - F30

Tutorial:

I begin by gently applying illuminating serum and foundation primer over my entire face. Using a buffing brush I follow with foundation (I find that a buffing brush is the best because it provides the blending of a sponge, without the product absorption) I then use my finger tips to lightly pat concealer under the eye and immediately set it with powder. I softly fill in my brows with Brow Wiz. I then prime the eye, and sweep the light pink shade from the Hazel Eyeshadow quad along the entire lid. The slate grey shade is then blended into the crease and along the lower lash line. I line the upper lash line with the cream liner into a small flick, and softly blend it upwards with the plum shade from the eyeshadow quad. I then tight-line the upper waterline with a black eye kohl. And after curling the lashes, I then finish off the eyes with 3-4 coats of mascara. I use the bronzer and cream colour base to highlight and contour. And then finish off with blush on the apples of the cheeks.
